Allianz Travel Protect competes on limits. Its Platinum plan carries S$2 million of overseas emergency medical cover — the largest fixed figure among the insurers we cover — and keeps S$200,000 in place for travellers aged 70 and over. That is a joint-third-highest figure rather than an unusual one: of the eight other insurers we cover, four publish the same or more — FWD and Great Eastern match it at S$200,000, and Income and Singlife publish more — while four publish less. (HL Assurance publishes no figure for the band at all.) The seniors comparison puts the published figures side by side.
Emergency transportation carries a single combined S$1 million limit, the same across all three tiers, and a S$10,000 search-and-rescue benefit appears on every plan. That last one is uncommon: only one other insurer in our set publishes a search-and-rescue benefit, Allianz Travel, also at S$10,000, so the cost of being located and extracted from somewhere remote is not something the rest of this set can be compared on.
Sports travellers get a distinct package on Gold and Platinum — equipment cover, equipment rental, and reimbursement when an injury makes you miss a booked activity. An optional cruise add-on covers missed ports, cabin confinement and denied boarding.
The gap to watch is pre-existing conditions: the only related benefit published is repatriation of remains, so treatment for an existing condition is not covered.
