Where MSIG is one of the standouts

On these comparison topics MSIG is one of the plans we picked out, with the reason stated on each page. This is a selection on that topic, not a claim that MSIG is unique — our matrix shows no dimension where it stands alone.

What changed on this page
2026-10-10
What the delay clock ends on, and which covers are sold on which basis. Section 19 pays the delay benefit for "the actual scheduled departure time of the replacement flight", and the row said only "the actual departure" — so a reader could not tell that the end of the period is a SCHEDULED time and belongs to the replacement flight. The row now says both. Three rows also gained the terms that decide whether the cover exists at all rather than how much it pays: §36 Cancel for any reason is not available on an annual plan and must be bought within 14 days of the first booking; §37 Pre-existing medical condition cover is sold only for a single return trip of up to 30 days, and not on an annual plan. Every one of those four was already in the model on the rider or in the wording, and none of them was on this page. The figures are unchanged.
2026-10-04
MSIG's delay rows now answer three questions its S$1,200 ceiling hides, and it times the whole delay to a departure — "the actual scheduled departure time of the replacement flight" — where three of the other eight — FWD, Great Eastern and Singlife — time it from the scheduled arrival to the actual arrival and two more, Sompo and Income, do so only where the trip has onward connecting transport. HL Assurance is the only other insurer here that measures from the departure end. It pays only for the seven causes Section 19 lists, and its S$60 every four hours is now shown as a rate per hour beside the ceiling. The rate is the same on all three plans: only the ceiling moves between them.
2026-09-22
The Singapore follow-up card on MSIG's hub now carries both age bands §4 prints — S$7,000 / S$20,000 / S$30,000 for an adult below 70 and S$1,000 / S$2,000 / S$3,000 at 70 and above, on Standard Flex, Elite Flex and Premier Flex — where it read the under-70 series on the top plan alone. Both bands were already in the model and on the plan pages; the hub showed one of them, and a single band under a benefit's name reads as the product's figure for that benefit. The figures are unchanged.
2026-09-15
Every figure on MSIG's pages now states what it is scoped to. A benefit whose amount varies by plan names the plan, one that is the same on all three says so, and a benefit that pays different rates to an adult and a child says which band it is quoting — the pre-existing medical, evacuation and cancel-for-any-reason figures had been published as bare amounts under the product's name, which reads as the entry plan's. The two age bands also now state the trip basis the wording prints them under: the 18-to-69 band and the 70-to-80 renewal are the annual plan's, while a single return trip is sold to adults of any age. The figures are unchanged; what each one applies to is what had gone missing.
2026-09-14
Every MSIG figure on this site now comes from the product model. The 37 fact records that used to carry them are retired: they were the last store outside the model, and this page, the insurer hub and the comparison columns that cite MSIG all read the one source now. No figure changed — what changed is that a reader can follow any of them to the wording page the model cites, and that MSIG's pages can no longer disagree with each other about what it publishes.
2026-09-14
The 30-metre scuba ceiling and the certification condition now appear on a water-sports row of their own, where they were two notes inside the adventure row before. Section 33's activity list names scuba diving among the eight groups it covers, and the two things that bound it are how deep and under what supervision — the question the water-sports row asks. The figures are unchanged and still cited from the same page; what moved is which row states them, so a reader looking for the depth finds it under the heading that asks for it rather than inside a list of activities.
2026-09-14
Section 26's delayed baggage now separates its two journey legs. The page had shown the overseas figures and the return-leg figures as one benefit — "S$1,000 (S$200 every 6 hrs; S$200)" — so the return-leg sum read as though it applied together with the overseas one. MSIG pays S$300 / S$600 / S$1,000 for baggage delayed overseas and S$100 / S$150 / S$200 on the return leg, and the row now states each beside the leg it applies to. The figures are unchanged; which of them applies when is what the page had not said.
2026-09-14
Golfer's cover now shows two figures it had been carrying but not publishing: the S$300 cap per article on golf equipment, and the S$100 per day for hired clubs. Each is the second of two limits this section states per plan, and the page rendered only the first of each pair before this. The section's other golf figures — the S$1,000 equipment sum, the S$300 for hired clubs, the S$500 green fees and the S$500 hole-in-one payment — were already shown, so this is not the row becoming complete: it is two of its figures arriving.
2026-09-13
Section 33's adventure cover is stated in full. The activities are now the eight groups the policy wording lists — including zip-lining, jet skiing, helmet diving, surfing, the six snow activities and a marathon up to 42.195 km — rather than the short example list in the summary, and the conditions that bound them are shown: a licensed operator, a qualified guide for white-water rafting up to Grade 3, scuba to 30 metres and no deeper than your own certification with an instructor present, no off-piste or unpatrolled terrain, and hiking to 3,000m.
2026-09-13
Every figure on this page is now read from the TravelEasy Flex policy wording itself, and the sub-limits printed inside its sections are modelled — the S$50 cap on prepaid phone cards, the per-visit, per-day and per-room-night rates, and the per-article and per-day golf limits.
2026-09-13
MSIG's pages describe TravelEasy Flex and nothing else. The insurer hub previously carried figures for TravelEasy — a different product, with four plans instead of three, which disagrees with Flex on most benefits, cancellation, delay and baggage among them. This product page has rendered the Flex model since it was created; the correction was the hub's.

Information only. Read from MSIG's TravelEasy Flex policy wording (edition QAD032602) with a source link on every figure above. This page describes that product only — MSIG's TravelEasy and Travel Easy Pre-Ex are not modelled here. Policy terms, exclusions and eligibility apply; the wording governs the claim, not this page, so verify with the insurer before purchase. Not financial advice.
