Who this plan suits
- Regular travellers who rarely claim and want renewal savings
- Travellers worried about needing continued treatment back home
- Anyone under 80 wanting uncapped evacuation without paying for a top tier
Worth knowing before you buy
- Emergency medical evacuation is not available to an insured person above the age of 80, so the unlimited figure does not answer for an older traveller. source: hlas.com.sg · verified 2026-08-14
- The no-claims discount is a promotion, not a policy benefit — the wording mentions no such discount, and HL Assurance's own programme terms say the promotion runs until 30 September 2026. A single-trip code is valid for 90 days from issue, and the discount is capped at 10% for all subsequent eligible trips. source: hlas.com.sg · verified 2026-08-14
- The COVID-19 benefits are available on Silver, Gold and Platinum only, and the wording makes them available only to a fully vaccinated insured person, with children below twelve exempt. source: hlas.com.sg · verified 2026-08-14
- HL Assurance's website says adventure activities are not covered, and its wording does not say that. The wording excludes a named list — white-water rafting and canoeing, bungee jumping, jet skiing, ski racing, back-country and off-piste skiing, ski jumping, hang gliding, parasailing, bobsleigh or skeleton, hunting, pot-holing, trekking or mountaineering above 3,000 metres, rock climbing that ordinarily needs ropes or guides, and other Extreme Sports — and it expressly allows leisure scuba diving under a qualified instructor, with a PADI certificate or equivalent, to no more than your certification's depth limit or 30 metres, whichever is shallower. source: hlas.com.sg · verified 2026-08-14
- The Basic plan carries no COVID-19 coverage at all. source: hlas.com.sg · verified 2026-08-14
- The pre-existing conditions add-on excludes follow-up treatment in Singapore. source: hlas.com.sg · verified 2026-08-14
HL Assurance’s Travel Protect360 spans four tiers — Basic, Silver, Gold and Platinum — and takes an unusual approach to rewarding customers: a no-claims discount. Complete a claim-free year on an annual plan and renewal carries a 10% discount; return from a claim-free single trip and you get a 5% code. Nothing similar appears in the other seven insurers we researched.
Its structural strength is what happens after a medical emergency. Emergency evacuation is uncapped on every plan including Basic, and treatment that continues in Singapore after you return is covered on all four tiers, with the limit rising as you move up the range. That matters because serious injuries abroad rarely end at the airport.
The hard limit to know about: adventure activities are excluded outright. If your trip involves anything beyond ordinary sightseeing, this isn’t the policy for it.
